I was there as a volunteer in 1993 and was lucky enough to have met Dr Herman and all the staffers at the time, and to have assisted, albeit briefly, with some of the research projects. It was an amazing place. And of course the stars, the 4 beautiful dolphins , Elele, Hiapo, Akekamai and Phoenix. You've awakened so many memories, thank you. I never met Louis but his work has been a fixture in my career with marine mammals. Like you, I believe his work was crucial to changing perceptions about cetaceans and directing awareness towards conservation.
